THE SAFE PROCESS
The "SAFE Hazard Control Process” has been developed to help mine, quarry and process workers, easily identify, assess and control hazards, making the workplace safer for everyone. The "SAFE" Process is an affective way to control hazards, is easy to understand, simple to impliment, can be used by any size operation, and involves 4 simple steps:
SEE IT - Identify the hazards
ASSESS IT - Calculate the risk.
FIX IT - Control the hazard.
EVALUATE IT - Check the controls work.

The components of the SAFE Mining and Quarrying training package includes: 5 films on 2 dvds, and the following digital files (on usb stick): Questionnaires/Answers, Safe Hazard Control report form, Risk Assessment table, SAFE poster, Hierarchy of Controls poster and SAFE scripts. SAFE MINING & QUARRYING DVD SERIES (5 films on 2 dvd discs)
The English PAL dvd version is available now for purchase. An NTSC dvd version (with American narrator) will be available soon, followed by other language versions depending on demand. Initiated in South Australia, the SAFE Mining and Quarrying dvd series has been modified for wider distribution - and for the FIRST TIME is available for national and worldwide release.

Disc 2: (4 films) Adapting the SAFE Process to 3 well known industry hazards and a guide to developing good Lockout Isolation Procedures from industry best practice.

RECOMMENDED SAFE TRAINING DELIVERY METHOD
We recommend that a trainer delivers the SAFE Training Package.

The 1st dvd in the series (dvd 1) introduces the SAFE Mining and Quarrying Process and it is recommended that this film is used first to introduce the SAFE Process to everyone. The dvds are segmented and the Questionnaires have been developed so questions can be answered after each segment that is viewed. There are a total of 11 questions for each film - and each questionsaire fits onto one A4 page. The Questionaires can be printed before the training session and handed out to the workers. There is room on each questionaire to write the answers. If  some workers get the answers wrong it is recommended that the trainer go through these with the worker before moving on. The qestionnaires can be filed and latter added to a computer data bank if required. The trainer can also answer any additional questions asked by the workers during the training.

On the second disc (dvd 2), 3 films; SAFE Mobile Plant, SAFE Manual Handling and SAFE Conveyors, have adapted the SAFE Process to these well-known hazards and controls have been highlighted. These films are also segmented and the Questionnaires have also been developed so questions can be answered after each segment.

Other additional digital materials include SAFE scripts, Risk Assessment table, SAFE poster and Hierarchy of Controls poster. These can be used during the training process, as handouts to workers and as posters around the workplace to enforce the SAFE Process message. A1 to A6 sizes of the posters and tables (on usb stick) have been created for different uses.

The beauty of the SAFE training package is that you don't need a computer to deliver the training - just a TV and dvd player. No need for a power point presentation, the posters and tables which have been created enforce the major points. You simply play the dvd and after each segment the workers answer questions relating to what they have just viewed. Play dvd segment, answer questions, play dvd segment, answer questions, etc.

The SAFE Lockout Isolations film has been included in the dvd series so you can use it to develop or modify your Lockout Isolations methods using industry best practice.

The SAFE Process can be rolled out easily and can be used to control all hazards in your workplace.
